This chapter focuses on the effects that agricultural wastes can have on water, air, and animal resources. Special emphasis is placed on the reactions of particu lar contaminants within the aquatic environment (how they change and how they affect aquatic life and hu man health). The impact of contaminants on designat ed uses of water is not covered in detail here because it is adequately covered in chapter 1 of this handbook. The pollutant delivery process—the movement of pol lutants from the source to a stream or water body—is described in this chapteren_US
